What's Playing? 11/12 Weekend

***

This weekend in theatres is just okay, compared to the great movies that opened last weekend.
The alien invasion film Skyline is definitely my number one pick to see.
The based on true events, action-thriller Unstoppable starring Denzel Washington is my second pick.
The documentary Cool It, about global warming, although educational, looks pretty good.
The comedy-drama Morning Glory has a strong cast, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton especially, and looks fun but at the same time, unexciting.
The indie comedy Tiny Furniture--- starring, directed and written by new to the film industry Lena Dunham looks funny, although the plot isn't anything new.

The rundown for this weekend's films opening this Friday goes:

Skyline
What's It About?
Aliens hostilely invade the Earth.

Why See It?
If you're an extraterrestrial believer and/or lover of alien movies.

Why Skip It?
You think it looks like a knock-off of Independence Day or War of the Worlds.

Trailer:

Unstoppable
What's It About?
Based on an actual event--- two men must stop a runaway train filled with toxic chemicals.

Why See It?
-Because Denzel Washington and Chris Pine are starring in it.
-Plus the drenched in action filled plot.

Why Skip It?
You're not an action film fan.

Trailer:

Cool It
What's It About?
A documentary about one man's ideas on how to stop global warming.

Why See It?
-If you enjoyed Al's Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and Leonardo DiCaprio's The Eleventh Hour.

Why Skip It?
A film on global warming doesn't seem very fun.

Trailer:

Morning Glory
What's It About?
A news producer tries to turn around for the better--- a morning show with two fighting anchors.

Why See It?
The plot is fresh and cast is great.

Why Skip It?
As upbeat and sunny as it looks, it also looks dull.

Trailer:

Tiny Furniture
What's It About?
A young woman returns home from college with absolutely no sense of direction for her life.

Why See It?
 Looks interesting and funny.

Why Skip It?
It's too indie for you.
