For the first week of the season I took on Gideon. It was not really much of a battle. I destroyed him 11-1. The only category that Gideon won was Holds. I was down by two wins Sunday, but then I got two big wins from Derek Holland and Drew Storen. I figured CC Sabathia would pick me up a win, but nope.
I had some big weeks from a few guys, such as Ryan Zimmerman and Carlos Ruiz. Tulowitzki hit three homers, but had a low average. My biggest hitter was Jose Tabata 11 Runs, 2 HRs, 3 RBIs, 5 SBs, and a .342/.457. I am sure he cannot do that every week, but it would be nice if he was even close to that.
Sabathia had three starts this week. This was was his line 17 Ks/1.45 ERA/1.29 WHIP after those three games. How the hell does he have a 0-1 record? My best pitcher was probably Bronson Arroyo with two wins and eleven strikeouts and a very nice 2.08 ERA/1.08 WHIP (not at all bad for a guy who was sick leading up to the first game). I picked up Kyle Drabek after his first start. He had a good second start, we shall see how that pans out.
After the first week I am in first place. Next week I take on Imler, who beat Jason/Nick 6-5-1. Offord won his matchup, but Ryan lost his. And for the rest of the readers out there, I promise there will be no more baseball posts this week.
